Well, we’ve been a little busy to say the least. Andrew developed a heavy chest cold at the end of 2007. He was wheezing and uncomfortable to the doctor prescribed Albuterol. He took that for a week and at his follow-up he was much better but still a little congested. Alexander started the round and got better first but he’s gotten another cold again and we’re hoping he does not spread it around again! We’re still recovering from the previous round.
In other news, I’ve decided to learn knitting this year. I’ve started a simple new sweater for Alexander using Homespun Delft and this pattern. Hope it turns out okay. I’ve also joined the Craftster 12″ Square a month Crochet Along. I am doing Two Squares a month and hopefully at the end of the year should have a pretty large Afghan from this. Here are the first two squares:

I am also working on the Jewel top by Doris Chan. Will post pictures of that soon.

I’d signed up in for an invite in August and just got my invite to join Ravelry! I immediately joined and am somewhat set up. It’s a pretty cool site so if you’re into crocheting and/or knitting, I would say sign up! If you are already on Ravelry I am “amandaf”. Do add me as a friend and let me know your user name as well.

One very tired pregnant mom here. The baby is so low, its getting next to impossible to sleep but for some reason, he/she is just not ready to get out. I was 3 cm dilated on Wednesday and have dropped even more since then. I keep having very sharp pains in my pelvic bone as well. Just not very comfortable right now and wishing I would have the baby soon.
In other news, completed my first ponchette.

Am now working on a “Ravenclaw style scarf for Alexander. He asked me to make him something.

Here’s a picture of the completed booties to go with the gown -

Working on this cloche for myself now in Caron Glimmer Red.
In other news, had my prenatal appointment yesterday. Things are good. Did the Group B streptococcus (GBS) test. Since the baby is now considered full term, I think it calls for a lot of walking to get things moving. Dr. said the baby was still pretty high up though I was 50% effaced. Been having a lot of irregular contractions but looks like it’s not done much to move the baby.

The Victorian Baby Cape is done! I used Bernat Softee Baby White Sparkle yarn. I thought I could use it with the christening gown I crocheted. Got me some more yarn to complete the gown, so onto that now. Here’s a picture of the cape:

In other news, I got a haircut. Lopped off quite a bit of hair (around 5″ at least I think) but I figure with four kids and one of them being a brand new baby, washing and drying my hair not to mention getting some time to brush it is going to go by the wayside. Here’s some pictures -
