An update after a while.
Well, things are definitely busy here in the Fernandes household. The kidlet#3 has been fighting a tonsil inflammation. That meant a fever for around 5 days. The pediatrician gave him something but that medicine had some vile side effects. He was constantly sleeping, not willing to eat anything and I think it gave him the runs as well… which translated into a diaper rash does not get a chance to subside because he’s pooping all the while! It was a 10 day treatment but we stopped after 7 days since he was not a happy camper. He still is not though because his milk intake has had to be severely curtailed to control his constant pooping.
The pregnancy is going well. My sciatica is always acting up and I seem prone to sinus infections but otherwise everything is fine. I had my Nuchal Translucency scan and blood tests done. Did not need a CVS or Amniocentesis because the results were so good. I don’t have the results for the AFP yet but at my drs. office, they follow the “No news is good news” policy so I am not worried. Had my ultrasound yesterday. The baby is doing well, was moving around a lot and the technician had a tough time getting all her measurements done because of that. But we got it done and I don’t have to go back again. So, that’s good. Also, the baby kept bumping the transducer with its head or feet. I guess it did not take too kindly to being poked and prodded with it! Oh and the technician said the baby was measuring more in line with a due date of October 16th (which is my due date according to LMP) rather than the EDD of Oct 22nd given by my dr. (from preliminary ultrasounds). So, what’s left before the baby comes - the Rhogamm shot, and the Gestational Diabetes test I think.
This past weekend, we took the kids to see the Baltimore Aquarium. It was tiring but the kids had fun. Alexander wanted to see sharks more than the dolphins and he was happy to see them. Hopefully I will finally upload some pictures to flickr soon.
