And one little wounded soldier later…

We don’t celebrate halloween but Aaron sure did his best to make it eventful for us!

On Tuesday Alexander had fall festival in clas. They had to dress up as a storybook character and would be having a small party in class. He was really excited. He had his pirate costume and storybook all ready. He dressed up and was all eager and waiting before it was time! I took a few pictures. The morning send off was uneventful. It was a nice warm day and I was grateful because the costume was definitely not warm!

In the afternoon, we all walked to the bus stop to pick him up. Alexander was all excited. He was telling me about the candy he got and the the small pumpkin he’d decorated. Alexander and Aaron were walking in front of me while I carried the baby. Suddenly from behind, this girl on a bike, she must be around 8, came speeding on a bicycle and banged into them. Poor Aaron took the brunt of it and fell down hitting the sidewalk. He hit the concrete edge and he got a cut just above his eye on his eyebrow. There was blood everywhere. I picked him up and started running towards home. A neighbor got Anthony out of my arms and took Alexannder and him out back while I cleaned Aaron up as best as I could. Blood was everywhere, even in his eyes. It would not stop. I called Angelo and then packed the kids into the van and went to their doctor. The doctor cleaned the would again and gave him a tetanus shot and told us to take him to ER. He would need a couple of stitches. I came back home to wait for Angelo. Managing three kids while one of them was getting stitches was outside my capabilities! Packed some snacks and drinks in the car. The ER wait was going to be a long one! My neighbor came up to ask how things were. When I told her I was going to have to go to the ER, she said I would be there all night. She gave the name and location of a nearby Urgent Care center. Angelo came home and we left for the Center.

They checked him. Injected him in the wound with numbing medicine. The doctor was surprised at how deep it was. She tought three stitches at first but landed up putting in five stitches. The stitches have to come out in 7-10 days. He’s okay now, back to his cheery self
