Thursday 13 - Happy Thanksgiving

Thirteen Things I am Thankful for

  1. My parents. I can always be sure they are praying for me and wishing the very best for me.
  2. My twin sister Wendy. She came up close and personal this year with the spectre of death this year. She was in one of the trains in Mumbai that was bombed this year
  3. My sister, Sarita. She’s there for our parents while I am so far from them.
  4. My husband. He’s a good father who spends lots of time with his family. He doesn’t want to be with his friends all the while.
  5. My children. Our boys are truly blessings from God, entrusted to us. I just hope I can be worthy of HIS trust.
  6. Our good health. God has blessed us with great health.
  7. My husband’s job. It keeps us fed, sheltered and entertained
  8. My belief in Jesus. Jesus saves and even though I am not as good a soldier for Jesus as my parents and sisters, I am thankful for my belief.
  9. That my husband is a believer too. Its so much easier to raise your children with belief when both spoises share the same belief system.
  10. My computer and broadband connection which allows me to keep in contact with family and friends
  11. My nice comfortable house. We have a nice yard for the children to play and a pretty nice neighbors.
  12. That we have a church closeby with a great priest and a very active congregation.
  13. My camera whic allows me to capture so many family moments for memories and posterity!
  14. My life which has been so rich and so blessed.

A Quick One

Published by AmandaF under Family, Everyday Living

Well, its busy days here again. My BIL got here yesterday, so picked Alexander from school and then drove around the airport till I spotted him and picked him up from airport. Today was spent at the SSA office to get him a SSN. I guess we will have to stop by the DMV for the booklet as well. He knows how to drive but he will have to adjust to the right side driving here.

This Thanksgiving we will be in New Jersey with the other BIL and family. Alexander is pretty happy at the prospect of spending time with his cousin sister. I have to make sure that everything is taken like the DVD player and DVDd for the trip and snacks and drinks along with clothes, diapers and other stuff… I’ve started a list… yes, I am one of “those” people.

Alexander only had school for two days. He’s off from tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Today was pajama day at schooll… It slipped my mind. Luckily, a couple of his classmates didn’t do the pajama thing either… so he was not alone. Besides today is not a day to be out in your PJs… it’s cold! Angelo’s not working Friday so we’ll come back on Saturday from NJ… that way he has a day of rest and recuperation from driving.
