Still getting used to the time change here. Sure it’s nice getting up and seeing the sunlight sooner but it takes some getting used to the early sunsets…
Alexander is definitely enjoying school… I guess they give kids a chance to like school here before they start homework and other school stuff! But when I see what his cousins in India are doing, it makes me wonder whether they challenge children enough over here. His cousins in India, at this age are learning cursive writing; have to write a five sentence paragraph about themselves and are already into words and numbers over 100. They’re probably even doing math addition and subtraction. He’s just writing 1-10 in mubers and words in class and recognizing some color words… and his teacher is one of the best. She’s topped her class and she has her kids reading by the end of the kindergarten year… I guess he’ll catch up eventually.
His teacher is really very active and keeps the kids busy.., I think he enjoys that. Last week on Thursday, they visited a farm and saw some animals. Alexander had fun even though it was a cold blustery day… I guess, things like cold windy days don’t stop much fun for kids! I would rather be in a warm home on days like that! He came home with a tiny pumpkin that he proudly displayed on the porch steps!
Today, they’re having a story book parade. He’s going dressed up as a pirate… must remember to take some pictures! He’s been excited since last week! He’s been telling me that Tuesday would never get here! Well, it’s here Alexander!
It’s funny the expressions and statements he comes up with from school! He’s making friends and having fun so I guess it’s all good…
You can tell that he’s absorbing at CCD as well… he knows most of the commandments and he’s always correcting us!
Like when Angelo uses a swear word (he just usually uses one when he’s really mad) or when I say “Oh God!”. It cracks us up when we try backpedalling when we realise what we’ve done!

Thirteen Things about the past two weeks
- Alexander went for a eye checkup last Saturday. He has to wear glasses for around 2 hrs every day. The doctor said he had mid range astigmatism and a slight lazy eye. He said it should be correctible since he was young.
- Alexander is enjoying Kindergarten and Sunday School. He just brought home his kindergarten pictures. He’s one of the youngest kids in class but he’s enjoying himself
- It’s gotten a lot cooler these past couple of weeks. We’ve even had frost a couple of times
- The cold weather has brought on several dry patches on Aaron’s face. They are extremely dry and no cream seems to be helping! I have tried cetaphil and vaseline so far.
- Aaron is going to be turning three soon! He’s much more accomodating than Alexander or Anthony though he does have his moments! Like if he does not want to eat something, he’ll pout, clamp his teeth and say “it’s tasty”. (he actually means “it’s not tasty”.
- The outside is mostly ready for winter. We got the swing on the porch and some of the more delicate plants in.
- Anthony completed 13 months! He’s such a little Alexander. He gets so angry if he’s not the center of attention and wil push Alexander and Aaron away from me.
- He had his first haircut…. he no longer has his curls. He looks so different! Like a little boy… not so much a baby now!
- He is also getting two more teeth… one has already broken through and the other has just about. That will bring the total to 8 teeth
- Anthony had his year well check a couple of weeks ago. He’s at 20 lbs 30 inches and got two more shots!
- It’s been difficult waking up in the morning these days… the sun rises so much later and Anthony has been real restless at night because he’s teething again.Hence the lack of blog posts!
