We’re that close to the airport! This plane is about to land… the landing strip is right next to the parish grounds.

Days like today make me wish for something a little alcoholic!
This morning started off with me waking up at 3:30 and not being able to go back to sleep! Lovely! The kids woke up okay and Alexander asked for a banana milkshake for breakfast. Of course, Aaron wanted the same too… I suggested that after coming back from school might be a better time… but no… they wanted it for breakfast. So, I made the banana milkshake… gave it to them and set about making the Anthony’s breakfast… Instead of drinking their shakes, Alexander and Aaron left the breakfast table and started playing… told them to go back… they did - until the next time I turned back. While they were away… Anthony climbed onto the dining chair and proceded to dump the contents of the glasses all over the table, chair and floor! Great fun, huh?! I cleared up the mess. Made them milk again… and made them breakfast - peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Alexander and a cream cheese sandwich for Aaron. Alexander ate most of the sandwich but complained the whole while about a stomach ache from the milkshake (which he NEVER drank!!!). Aaron ate a couple of bite of his sandwich and smushed the rest of it into the dinette table… Thank Heavens we don’t have a table cloth! Aaron then proceeded to tear the family room apart! I will not clean up until just before my husband gets here!

Thirteen Things about the past two weeks
- Made a cake for Alexander on his birthday.

- We had a small party for Alexander and Anthony on the 2nd. Their cousin from NJ was here and a few other friends. They had a blast!

- I think the kids really enjoyed the yard outside… it’s very rare that houses have substantial yards out here… most houses are packed in as close as possible!
- We did a small cake on Anthony’s actual birthday

- Anthony has started dancing! It’s so cute but I have not been able to capture it.. Every time I bring the camera, he stops!
- Alexander started school! He’s having fun and enjoys going to school so far.

- Aaron had a hard time adjusting to Alexander going to school just like we suspected. He wanted to go to school with Alexander. He refused to even have his lunch, the first day!
- Aaron and I have started working a little in the mornings while Alexander is at school. We work on colors, shapes, numbers 1-10 and counting and the identifying the alphabet.
- We missed the bus the first day of school… it came early! I had to take him to school… which turned to be good because I got to take some pictures!

- New phrase Alexander picked up in school - I gotta rush
- I have started a new tack in trying to instill discipline in the kids… the old ways were starting to have little effect… So we now have a rules list and consequences list. Every morning we go over the rules and consequences, so they can refresh their memories… It’s slow work but things are getting better.
- The weather has turned fall like already! It rains a lot and is windy and cool outside! Add the fact that it’s dark here until 6:30 now and I am already starting to feel like it’s winter!
- Of course all this rain and cloudy weather means our garden and lawn is flourishing! Its all beautifully green outside. I think we have three different types of zinnias this year. The roses are still blooming and so are the canna and calla lilies. The hydrangeas have not flowered though
