This crucifix is on our family prayer altar.

Today is Ash Wednesday. It marks the beginning of Lent for us and continues for the next forty six days until Easter Sunday. We will be going to church where we will receive the ashes to signify our repentance before God, to show our sorrow for our sins. The ashes also remind us of our mortality. They remind us that one day this earthly existence of ours will end. We will have to stand before our God and give an account of what we did with this precious gift God gave us – Life.
